About

Many Voices is committed to creating a national movement for gay and transgender justice from within the Black church.

Working in partnership with nationally-recognized pastors, theologians, and Christian educators, Many Voices is laying a foundation for respectful and loving dialogue. Through trainings, mentoring, and online resources that provide a safe place to ask questions, learn, and take new steps, we equip African American pastors and church members to publicly share the faith journeys that have led them to affirm love and justice for gay and transgender (LGBT) families.

Many Voices’ website is here to

  • Be a safe place to ask questions,
  • Help you take your next step toward inclusiveness,
  • Share ideas and resources that will help you take that next step,
  • Publish your wonderful ideas or resources,
  • Hear experiences that inspire inclusiveness, and
  • Dialogue with others on the journey.

You’re invited to seek and share…

If you’re new to creating a welcoming community of faith, we’re glad you’ve come. Please look around. If you can’t find what you need, let us know. If you’re no longer new, and you’ve begun creating resources that are meaningful to your congregation, please share them!

Nearly every resource on this site is available for free download. We ask only that you honor the contributors with a citation whenever you use their work and consider expressing your appreciation with a donation.

…and become one of many voices!
