Dr. Kate Ott

Dr. Kate OttDr. Kate Ott is Deputy Director of the Religious Institute. She holds a doctorate in Christian Social Ethics from Union Theological Seminary and teaches at Drew Theological School, Union Theological Seminary, and Yale Divinity School.

Dr. Ott was Director of Research for the Yale Women Faculty Forum, where she worked on issues of gender equity and professional ethics in academia. She has over 15 years of church-related experience in campus ministry, youth ministry and Christian education programs. She conducts workshops for local churches as well as national denominational committees and seminaries.

Dr. Ott is co-author of the second edition of A Time to Speak: Faith Communities and Sexuality Education and author and project director of Sex and the Seminary: Preparing Ministers for Sexual Health and Justice. She is the co-editor of Just Hospitality: God's Welcome in a World of Difference, as well as a contributing author to ThoughtfulChristian.com.
