Prayer of petition

We pray for transformation in places of worship to be a better community.

 

God of wonders, your people come before you to celebrate the diversity of your creation.

We come before you to recognize that we are many, yet one in you and one with one another.

Help us to be the people you call us to be:

humble,

caring,

welcoming,

affirming,

trustworthy,

loving…

Prophetic people who are willing to hear the voice of your Spirit calling the world to be transformed by the loving presence of a God who works with us, who walks with us, and who empowers us to be the children of freedom.

Pour out your Holy Spirit on us that we may be the community that your son Jesus Christ, called us to be: a community of love and reconciliation, in whose name we pray.
