Jesus says, Come to me, and I will give you rest. A rest that is not passive, but is having the weight and concern of this life taken from you.
Jesus says, Come to me,
and I will give you rest.
A rest that is not passive,
but is having the weight and concern
of this life taken from you.
A rest that is not the hurry of the world,
but is growing at the proper pace.
A rest that is not the closing of your eyes,
but is opening them at last.
Come to my rest, he says.
To where you belong.
Lord, give us your rest
and take us up
into your striving for this world.
