Prayer of Thanksgiving

Rejoice in this offering of thanksgiving at the Communion Table for the gathering of all and the shared meal.

 

God of all creation, Spirit of our living hope, fall afresh on this table.  We remember your Passover covenant and we give you thanks for all our ancestors in faith.  We rejoice that you teach us the way of reconciliation with you and all people everywhere.  We give thanks that you remain faithful to your covenant even when we are faithless.  Overwhelm these simple elements of bread and cup. Transform this ordinary ritual into holy food. Meet us here, O Christ, that we may be filled by  your spirit and replenished by your grace. Amen.
