Growing up in the Korean American church, Jeehye was rarely exposed to ideas such as social justice or the love of God extending to those “outside” the realm of traditional and conservative Christianity. Her experience in seminary—specifically making friends with gay Christians—opened her mind and heart to see that God does, indeed, extend love to all of God’s creation. Jeehye holds a Masters in Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary.

Speaking about her role with Many Voices, Jeehye believes “it will lead me further into the ministry of reconciliation, justice, and equality.”  Her vision is to lead the Korean American church to fully welcome gay and transgender people into the church. She looks forward to this happening in her lifetime.
